The prices on the FX Trading Station are not indications of where the market is trading, but actual prices at which a trader can buy or sell the currency pair. With two clicks of the mouse, FX Platinum clients can execute a trade at the screen price. There are several systems or platforms in the FX market that serve to exemplify the distinction between indicative quotes and executable prices. While these systems show two-way prices, the client cannot actually trade from these rates. The FX Trading Station is superior in this respect because it takes the mystery out of the pricing, resulting in a fair and transparent market for all traders.

The FX Trading Station provides quick order entry and instantaneous execution. There are multiple ways to initiate market orders, including hitting an express "Buy" button, or clicking the BUY/SELL price of a specific currency pair. Even under the most chaotic market conditions, orders are processed and filled within seconds. There are no partial fills on market orders and market orders will only be executed at the quoted price. Once an order is filled, the order is displayed in the "Open Positions" window immediately. The Open Positions window displays the price of the fill, and the real time profit/loss on the position in both pip and dollar terms. In addition, stops and limits may be created or altered for an open position from this window.

Every client has the ability to set their own margin requirement, providing that the margin meets FX Platinum's minimums. Margin requirements start at 1% ($1000 per lot). This requirement is maintained for both intra-day trading and for positions held overnight. Based on each client's margin requirement, the FX Trading Station calculates in real time both the funds needed to maintain current positions (Used Margin) and the funds available for taking new positions (Usable Margin). This information, along with Account Equity, Account Balance, and Floating P/L appears in the "Accounts" window. In the event that funds in the account fall below margin requirements, open positions will be closed by the dealing desk at the market price. This provides protection against accounts falling below the account equity, particularly in a highly volatile, fast moving market.

Clients can generate detailed account statements on demand from the FX Trading Station. The reports can contain up-to-second account information or be customized to reflect activity between any two given dates. These reports are comprehensive, including the details for each specific trade. In order to receive a hard copy record, the client simply clicks on the print function.

IFR Forex Watch, Thomson Financial's premier institutional FX news and analysis service, provides the real time content for FX Platinum NEWS. With one click of the mouse, clients can access FX Platinum News, no additional login is necessary. The FX NEWS window is adjustable, allowing simultaneous viewing of both live prices and real time news. There is no cost to FX Platinum clients for this service
